Michou’s precious life was cut short due to Corporate pet food’s negligence and greediness. Michou survived his death sentence from the Emergency vet, the first time he got suddenly ill (Feb. 2007). Menu Foods: The Largest pet food Recall in US History In 2006 and 2007, 60 million containers of 180 different brands of pet food and treats, produced by 12 different manufacturers, were recalled due to the intentional contamination of wheat gluten and rice protein imported from China by two Chinese Companies, Xuzhou Anying Biologic Technology Development Co. and Binzhou Futian Biological Technology. This was the largest recall of pet food in US history and was initiated by the dominant manufacturer of dry dog and cat food, the Canadian Company, Menu Foods. The contaminated wheat gluten and rice protein were adulterated with melamine which, combined with cyanuric acid, can lead to acute renal failure if eaten by small animals. The two Chinese supply companies intentionally put melamine into wheat gluten and rice protein to deceive manufacturers and the public of their true protein content, resulting in the deaths of untold numbers of animals and putting at risk more than 100 Million pets in Americas households. This is the true story of this historic $24 Million dollar settlement for 23000 claimants and how the loss of one familys pet and friend, Sahara, adversely affected the lives of one pet owner, Tracy Schlutter. So, to show that they are concerned with all of these, they recalled all of their products and hope to look for other suppliers of raw materials for pet food.

Pet food recall?
Just wanted to pass along the latest info on the pet food recall. the pet food Natural Balance for dogs and cats has been recalled . I saw in the news that the chemical melamine, which has contaminated the wheat gluten in a lot of products, has been found in the rice protein concentrate ingrediant in the venesen and rice flavors in that brand. Everybody that has pets, please be careful. This recall just gets crazier and crazier.

I fed him some of the brands pet foods on the recall list, how do I know whether or not his condition was not caused by this food? His condition was rather sudden and did not give us a lot of warning. My whole family was devestated by his death. We consider our animals part of the family!
