We’re on a raw/prey model diet here. I like to read up on nutrition for my pets as well =) what about you?

I feed my cats Science Diet and only Science Diet. Earlier this year I was feeling stingy and I downgraded to Indoor Formula Cat Chow and over a 2 month time my 4 year old male got Pancreatitus…which we narrowed down to the food change. He was in the hospital for 9 days, had a continuous IV and exploratory surgery before they found the problem. That was an expensive cat food switch! Since then we have also cut way back on the amount of treats we give them since they are a little more fatty than normal cat food. We are now sticking to Science Diet and our 3 cats are very healthy.

You have got to try Royal Canin Cat Food! I adopted an abused neglected 2 yr. old kitty whose belly was totally pink and hairless. Not long after I got him on Royal Canin, he has a belly full of beautiful fur and has really blossomed overall. The difference is very noticeable and amazing. It has more protein in it than Hill”s Science Diet, and apparently is more pleasing to a cat’s palate. My cat cries for the Royal Canin each morning and ignores the Hill’s.

I had him on Hill’s before the Royal Canin and he did not get as healthy as he is now.

I would like to feed raw but with 8 pets I can’t afford too. The younger 5 of my cats eat California Natural Chicken & Brown Rice dry and California Natural Deep Ocean Fish or Venison canned. My oldest cat has food allergies so she has to eat a mix of Evo Chicken and Evo Herring dry with the same canned as the rest. We sell these brand where I work so I get a discount. I’m very concerned about my pets’ nutrition. Sadly, before I started working at the kennel I knew nothing about animal nutrition and my three oldest cats were fed store brand foods. They’re much happier and healthier now.

I feed my cats about 90% raw, 9% canned and 1% dry. I’m not concerned about their nutrition at all.

My fosters receive Wellness canned and Wellness Core dry. I’m not worried about them either, until they’re adopted and go on Meow Mix or some other junk.
