Did you know they found melamine in the rice protein in the Natural Balance pet food?
In the article in Pet Connection.com it stated that they found melamine in the dog and cat food but it was not wheat gluten it was the rice Protein. It was found in the Natural Balance pet foods.
Melamine is a fertilizer and it is not good for animals.

One lot of the venison product was affected by something. They are investigating.
Melamine has been shown safe in the past, so what’s causing additional problems is a concern. Especially since this brand touts such high quality products. . .

There is some speculation by some vets btw that this is not a melamine issue at all but an overload on vit D. It may be that the FDA is focusing in way to hard on one singular ingredient and now saying ‘we solved it’ way too quickly.
They may find the answer (A different one that is) and not even tell the public as that would make them look incompetent (as if they don’t already) =/
This is very frustrating for many pet owners.
I am lucky that I have always fed my kitty’s Innova Evo, Wellness, and Wysong. There are many wonderful foods out there that are very good for your cats and dogs!
