Should Menu Foods be testing healthy animals with their tainted pet food to help determine the underlying cause of the illnesses and deaths associated with their pet food? Tests on the tainted food began AFTER consumers complained that their pets were poisoned by the food.

no they can test all the chemicals in the food before it goes on the market
You know what? I never thought of that. They technically are testing it on healthy animals by changing the Wheat Gluten source of protein, and not saying anything. They still put it in the food and sent it out, and now dogs and cats are getting sick and suffering. It’s sad and cruel. I just got a puppy Monday (8 weeks) and I was feeding him a little bit of the canned Eukanuba Puppy food mixed with his dry food….As soon as I heard of the recall (which was Tuesday) I stopped giving it to him. I need to check the can to see if it was made within the time that the recalled foods were processed. I keep forgetting. And it is at home( I am at work).

Why would an American/Canadian pet food company buy wheat from China? Don’t we have enough wheat here? Why would any American pet food comany buy any food stuff from China? There should be a law against it…since there is no quality control. Obviously no sanitation either. We could all have suffered the same death/illness.

Oh My Gosh – This is HORRIBLE!
Menu Foods has handled this crisis inappropriately from day one. The pet food industry needs serious regulating since obviously, they cannot regulate themselves. In addition, there are horror stories about what actually goes into pet food (eg. dead animal carcasses, for one). All pet food manufacturers need to cease ALL animal testing of their products – there are a number of alternative technologies that can be used to identify and predict how an animal will respond to the food products being manufactured. In addition, all manufacturers should only use wholesome, healthy, nutritious ingredients for their products – ingredients that are safe and healthy enough that even a human could eat the products with no problem.

m(M)enu foods is a sick company, those poor animals, They are concerned only with money not about the animals welfare. We should feed that poison food to the CEO’s of that company, those greedy rich pigs.
