If you feed your pet a healthy food….?
Is it true they will have a softer coat and live longer than if you fed them something with ‘by products’ and all that bad stuff in the ‘cheap’ foods (ie:iams, science diet, friskies, etc)???

Yes. Take cat food for instance. Cats are built to eat animal material and nothing else. The moment you introduce things that are not from good parts of the animal (like meat byproducts, artificial colors, cornmeal), you invite problems like kidney disease, food allergies, obesity, and upset stomachs. If you really want your cat to live a long healthy life, don’t buy their food at the grocery store.
I have a cat who had really bad diarrhea problems and a dull coarse coat. I quit feeding her the cheap stuff from the grocery store and started feeding her California Natural instead. She loves it, and all of the aforementioned problems are completely gone.

I feed my pets on the least expensive foods which I usually purchase from the supermarket. It is convenient and my time and money is short. I have had pets for many years and they have always been very healthy and have had good lives. They need exercise , a variety of food and training so that they understand your needs. Also there are yearly injections that need to be attended to so that they do not become seriously ill which can be expensive. You should be aware that an animal or birds life is a lot shorter than ours so that if any serious problems occur as they get older it is often kindest to put them to sleep as they are not able to express their pain.

this is a false statement!!!!!!! ask your vet!!!!!! i’ve worked for the humane society and we feed the animals there donated food, from cheap to costly…. animals are like people!!!!! different in every way you can imagen…. things you never give animals……
rawhide bones, they can’t digest.
cats cow milk, it’s not good for them.
dogs cat food, unless they are under weight then you mix the two together moist cat food and dry dog food.
caned food everyday is not good, it should be a treat only.
food off the shelf anywhere has good and bad things for pets, you need to find out what each indivisual pet lacks and needs to grow strong and healthy.
best things to feed your pets,
steemed white rice with no season, steamed chicken with no bones and no season. this will make for a happy and super healthy animal.
include well cooked beef and pork for a variety.
make sure pets get exercise and play time too.
real pigs ears are a wonderful treat.
hoofs are great for healthy teeth.
dry food is great for healthy teeth.
brush teeth often and visit your vet regularly.
remember, over weight pets develop heart and health problems more often than active and normal weight pets.
pets just like humans come in all shapes and sizes, a healthy weight is what is right for each indivisual pet.
remember spay and neuter your pets for a longer, healthier, and happier life.

I do not know about a softer coat, however if you feed them “healthy” food they will live longer.
If you feed them food lacking in amino acids like taurine, they will loose their hair.
What are “healthy” foods? NO COMMERCIAL PET FOOD IS HEALTHY FOOD!!! It is all marketing hype. Your question should really be “the less unhealthy food.”
The healthiest food for pets is home prepared. If your pet is accustomed to commercial foods, consult a vet or pet nutritionist if you want to make the change, which must be gradual.
