What are some Natural healthy dog treats that I can find in my home?

by admin on January 5, 2010

I just got a new dog, he is from the Pasadena Humane Society, and he is really skinny. I was wondering if anyone knew any treats that he could eat that are relatively healthy.

Thanks so much!!

If he is really skinny you can give him any dog treat . he won’t have to worry about too many calories just yet.

First take him to the vet to make sure he doesn’t have worms or any other cause for being so skinny. Talk to your vet about a prper diet for him.

Home treats that are healthy and not fattening would be most fruits & vegetables. My dogs like green beans and baby carrots.

My dog love sweet potato fries! You can buy them frozen and bake them or you can just cut up fresh sweet potato’s and bake them.

if you want him to put on weight, try peanut butter on apple or crackers.

Remember- no grapes, raisins, chocolate or oddly avocados!

Thanks for rescuing-Good Luck!

For sure it’s best to check with your Vet, but if other causes are ruled out for his thinness, and he just needs something to gain some weight and build up his strength, ask your Vet about this “Satin Balls” recipe.
