You make a great point. I work at a health food and supply store for pets and I’m dumbfounded when customers buy a high quality diet and throw a bag of Beggin’ Strips on the counter.
I don’t personally feed treats on a daily basis. My dog works for her kibble, which I hand feed when she completes a task. I think it’s a good idea to remind folks that a scratch on the chest or a ball thrown can be an even bigger reward than food.
Love this! I should really look into holistic care for my dogs. I think it will help them much more.
