Why a good healthy cat has this nice odor?

You see i have 5 kittens and they are so chubby( a sign of health i guess…),playful and cute.one thing i notice about them is that they smell so nice each time i hug them near my face as if they’re using a talc but i never bathe them. Are cats geneticly programmed to produced some kind of natural perfume or deodorant just to show they are healthy?Or was it to attract a mate? How about big cats?Do they also produce this type of nice odor?

Yes. Good smell is sign of good health. And could be they are emitting that smell to attract a mate as some in the kingdom animalia do.

    Pheromones.

Because healthy cats will always clean themselves thoroughly and this makes them smell fresh.
