I’m hearbroken! I went to work on a Sunday at 3:30 p.m., at 6:30 p.m. my sister (who was the only one at my house) called me and said my cat was dying! I left work and was home in 10 minutes, but my cat was dead on the floor. No sign of anything wrong!
What would kill a healthy cat within one half hour inside my home?

take it to the vet for an autopsy. poison?
Could have been a weak heart.
Your sister didnt have anything to do with it?, maybe a stroke – or it went into shock and then had a heart attack.
Your local vet would be able to tell you
A couple of months ago, there were mice in the neighborhood. Neighbors set out poison for the mice and my cat caught and ate one of the poisoned mice, which killed my cat. I know the neighbors didn’t intend for that to happen, but it didn’t make my daughter feel any better about it. That could be what happened in your situation. Your cat doesn’t necessarily have to go outside to catch a mouse.
may be because of food poisoning or eating chemicals kept for rodants cockroaches or anything else. think of possiblilties.
Not enough love.
Or too much love,
Either way, it wasn’t getting exactly the right amount of love.
or poison.
wel there is 100 reason for that it could of been choked from a lil peice of toy and there is alot of formulas that could kill a cat in 5 mins or could cuz dyhaidration and there is alot kind of food and fruts that could kill the cat and there is some bugs that have poisen so who knows its really sad to hear that im so sorry !!!
i think your cat must have eaten something that may be hazardous to your cat
it sounds like your kitty may have gotten into something…cleaning products or some such thing.
I’m very sorry for you loss
How old was your cat? My mum recently lost a young kitten (18 weeks old) suddenly took ill and a few hours later he died (at the vet). They did an autopsy and found he had a birth deformity that caused his death.
But around the house the kitten may have got into some cleaning products that could have poisoned him. There are many poisoning dangers around the home. I opt to use vinegar where possible for cleaning (to protect my cats).
Have a good look around the house and see if any cleaning products were left out that the cat may have drunk. Cats can also be poisoned from licking or rubbing a dog washed in a dog-friendly shampoo (but unsafe for cats). A cat could have licked and rolled on freshly washed floor (using chemicals).
A cat could have choked on something (string is a common one).
It could be from food poisoning. There are a lot of food that we eat but can be life threatening to a cat.
If you really want to find out, ask your vet to do a blood panal and autopy.
Check this link for food that are toxic to a cat: http://www.peteducation.com/category_summary.cfm?cls=1&cat=1935
Cats are curious critters. and it was said that once upon a time curiosity killed a cat. Your cat died because:
It may have gone outside and bothered a snake, or a spider;
It may have found a mouse that was treated with poison;
It may have breathed a large dose insect spray, or hair spray etc.
It may have suffered from a heart attack, stroke, an allergy or a siezure.
Cats usually don’t eat what is not food, they’re supposed to be fussy about what they eat. They do see as food anything that moves by itself, like live birds and animals, spiders, reptiles and insects.
Your vet should be able to tell you what could have killed your precious, but you need to get the body to the vet immediately. You didn’t say whether it was Sunday this week, or was it before last month. It seems you may have disposed of your cat already, so doing an examination would be difficult.
When you plan to get another cat remember that owning a cat is incompatible with using poison baits for mice and insects.
I hope you do get another precious.
do you think your sister could have had something to do with it???
heat exsaustion…
poison???
A vet would need to do an autopsy to find out what happened.
